TEHRAN, May 03 (MNA) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani met with the head of Indonesian Parliamentary Committee Azis Syamsuddin to discuss the potentials of the two countries for cooperation.

Stressing the need for promoting economic, political and parliamentary relations between Iran and Indonesia, Larijani said that the two countries have long-standing and friendly ties and must take advantage of their potentials.

Confusion prevailing by terrorists in the region has involved almost all Muslim countries, and should be settled through political solutions not with war and killing, he noted.

Syamsuddin, for his part, expressed Indonesia’s willingness to increase the level of economic, political, parliamentary and scientific ties with Iran and in this way he said Indonesia would do every effort necessary.

He pointed to the different branches of Islam in Indonesia saying “despite the multiplicity of Islamic sects, the followers of all sects live together like brothers and respect each other's beliefs."

Syamsuddin also delieverd an invitation letter from Larijani's Indonesia counterpart for a visit in near future.
