TEHRAN, Apr. 27 (MNA) – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan held talks with his Brazilian counterpart Raul Belens Jungmann Pinto on issues of mutual interests as well as the regional and global developments.

The meeting between the two ministers took place after 40 years on the sidelines of the 6th Conference on International Security currently underway in Moscow.

Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaee was also present in the meeting.

The ways for reinforcement of mutual, regional and global cooperation were reviewed during the meeting.

Dehghan underscored that there exists appropriate grounds in various sectors leading to development of cooperation between Iran and Brazil.

Praising the momentous constructive role of Brazil in regional and global equations as well as adopting a positive stance in supporting Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities, Dehqan called for reinforcement of mutual cooperation in various sectors.

The Brazilian minister, for his part, described the meeting as valuable and called for the expansion of all-out relations between the two nations.

He also called for exchange of information and experiences in different areas, tackling terrorism in particular.

The Iranian minister also conferred with a number of counterparts from other countries on the latest developments in the region as well as the counter- terrorism efforts.

Dehghan has so far held separate meetings with his Serbian, Indian and Venezuelan counterparts in Moscow.

Dehghan arrived in Moscow on Tuesday (April 25) to take part in the 6th Conference on International Security and a trilateral meeting with his Russian and Syrian counterparts.

The two-day Moscow Conference on International Security began on Wednesday (April 26), attended by high-ranking defense delegations and experts from various countries.
