Hassan Rouhani made the remarks on Tuesday morning at the meeting of authorities of Islamic countries with the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei on the occasion of Eid al-Mab'ath as the anniversary of the appointment of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) to prophethood.
The official extended his congratulations on the auspicious occasion to all participants and all Muslims. “Meaning of al-Mab'ath will be brighter if the age and society in which Prophet Mohammad began his mission; a society replete with violence and social, economic and racial discrimination; a society that had no respect for children, women, slaves or blacks; a society entangled with severe poverty.”
“In such circumstances, a Prophet was appointed who was kind, tolerant, gentle and good-natured; a Prophet who was against all harassment and prayed for guidance of his people.”
Rouhani defined al-Mab'ath as development of human potential and introduction of the rule of law, a rule whose law was Sharia, justice, prudence and consultation with people.
“Unfortunately, the Muslim world is plagued by violence, terrorism, instability and insecurity and is making no progress. Today, once again, we need the mission of the prophet of Islam (PBUH) whose miracle was rhetoric and science which can help Islamic countries of the region get rid of insecurity and instability.”
“The Great nation of the Islamic Republic of Iran is after creation of a new epic in the wake of the twelfth presidential elections fifth elections of city councils,” he underlined.
He described religious democracy as a gifts by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). With the guidance of the Leader, who has defended the Islamic Revolution with courage and invited all to apply the law, people are full of hope and confidence and are waiting for healthy, safe and fair elections as a source of pride for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iran’s President also commemorated memory of the longtime companion of Imam Khomeini and the Leader, Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani and asked God to bless his soul.
