TEHRAN, Apr. 11 (MNA) – In a phone talk with his Egyptian counterpart, Iran’s Foreign Minister Zarif condemned recent terrorist incidents in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

In a phone conversation with the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry on Monday, Mohammad Javad Zarif, while sharing sympathies with the government and people of Egypt, denounced recent terrorist incidents in the Arab country and emphasized the need to fight against terrorism.

Two deadly bombings targeted Coptic Christian churches in Egypt on Palm Sunday and ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks, which were aimed at a vulnerable religious minority on one of the most important days on the Christian calendar.

Suicide bombers struck hours apart at two Coptic churches in northern Egypt, killing at least 44 people and turning Palm Sunday services into scenes of horror and outrage at the government that led the president to call for a three-month state of emergency.
