TEHRAN, Mar. 27 (MNA) – In meeting with Bangladeshi ambassador, Iran’s Parliament speaker has welcomed expansion of parliamentary relations between Iran and Bangladesh.

Ambassador of Bangladesh to Iran Majibur Rahman Bhuiyan met with Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani earlier on Monday, where Larijani called for boosting bilateral ties between Tehran and Dhaka expressing satisfaction with improving exchanges.

“Potentials of the two countries must be realized through cooperation of private sectors and removal of obstacles,” Larijani said. “Iran and Bangladesh have enjoyed friendly and improving relations through ups and downs in world and regional situations and this trend of increasing relations should not be stopped.”

He further called for more parliamentarian ties and emphasized that Iranian Parliament welcomes more relations in all fields and ready to set legislative grounds in this regard.

Larijani also expressed hope that cooperation in banking exchanges can boost economic and trade exchanges between two countries.

Ambassador Majibur Rahman Bhuiyan for his part uttered Dhaka’s willingness to expand political, economic and parliamentarian relations with Iran and highlighted that the government in Bangladesh supports any measures in this regard.

“Private sector and businessmen in Bangladesh strongly welcome trade ties with Iran,” he said and underlined that Dhaka’s policy supports maintenance of peace and stability in region and world in which ‘Iran’s cooperation is of high significance to Bangladehs.’
