TEHRAN, Mar. 27 (MNA) – President Rouhain of Iran addressed journalists at Mehrabad Airport of Tehran before leaving for Moscow.

"The volume of Iran-Russia trade has risen by 80% in the past year and it means the two countries are moving on a progressive path," said President Hassan Rouhani of the Islamic Republic of Iran at Mehrabad Airport of Tehran on Monday before leaving for Moscow.

The Iranian president boasted that Tehran and Moscow also benefit from multilateral ties as the heads of states of Iran, Russia, and Azerbaijan met in Baku and Astana talks which are the results of cooperation between Iran, Russia and Turkey over the crisis in Syria.

"About tourism which is of prime importance to both countries of Iran and Russia some good will be taken in this visit," reassured the Iranian head of government. "The two countries have had good cooperation especially after the JCPOA about banking relations and more steps will be taken in this trip."

Rouhani asserted that the enhancement of bilateral ties between Tehran and Moscow will benefit both countries, will be advantageous to the stability in the region, and will be harmful for terrorism. He maintained that Iran and Russia are enjoying good cooperation on the international arena and that the world of today was changing. "The US is grappling with some domestic troubles and problems with other countries, in Europe a worse situation in the future is in prospect, and in our region it is quite clear that terrorism is a serious problem, and all of these recount the new situation that the world of today is experiencing."
