Mr. Bahram Ghasemi told the press on Thursday that on Wednesday evening, 6 members of the opposition and anti-Revolutionary groups tried to attack the embassy by crossing the security arrangements, to which Foreign Ministry’s North and East Europe Office responded through summoning the Danish ambassador. “The Office voiced the harshest objections on the case and on the poor and unacceptable reaction by Danish security and police which was against the accepted international conventions of the protecting foreign embassies,” Ghasemi said.
“During the summoning, the ambassador was notified by the objections and the fact that lack of any strict measure to prevent such events in the future would significantly defile Denmark’s political conduct and would also jeopardize the bilateral ties,” he added.
“Mr. Ambassador expressed regrets for the events and reaffirmed his commitment to convey Foreign Ministry’s clear objections immediately to his fellow government in Copenhagen,” Ghasemi concluded.
