TEHRAN, Mar. 01 (MNA) – The 11th consular consultation meeting between Iran and Armenia was held in Yerevan on February 27-28.

The event was headed by Director General for Consular Affairs at the Iranian and Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ali Chegeni and Vladimir Karmir Shalian.

During the session, which was also attended by Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Seyyed Kazem Sajjadi, both sides voiced satisfaction towards holding of the joint meeting and investigated a wide range of venues for development of bilateral cooperation.

Both parties at the consular meeting mulled over reinvigoration of relations in fields like tourism, trade and investment.

Iranian and Armenian officials at the 11th consular consultation meeting expressed satisfaction towards cancellation of visa for holders of ordinary passports as a measure which will provide proper ground for bolstering joint collaboration in various arenas.

In view of full cancellation of visa for nationals of the two countries, the Armenian side proposed expansion of cooperation in various spheres to the regional level.

Iran and Armenia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the end of 11th consular consultation meeting.
