Iran’s national team of men beach soccer players won the first championship of the first edition of Persian Cup Tournament of Beach Soccer in Iranian southern port city of Bushehr.
The final event of the tournament kicked off at 07:30 p.m. local time on Thursday at the newly built stadium of Bushehr’s tourism town where the hosts defeated Italy 4-3 to garner a total of 7 points and claim the title of the competition.
Earlier, on Tuesday, the Iranian outfit had edge past Poland 3-2 in their opening match at the tournament and the second event of the Iranian was held on Wednesday when the 3-3 stalemate of the legal time led to the penalty shoot-outs and the hosts managed to defeat the European giants 8-7.
Iran, Italy, Poland, and Ukraine were the four teams competing in the quadrilateral tournament and after Iran, Italy, Ukraine, and Poland got the best results respectively.
The competitors acquire 100, 80, 60, 40 points respectively according to their final place at the tourney, contributing to their international ranking points.
