TEHRAN, Feb. 10 (MNA) – President Hassan Rouhani has said Islamic Revolution had provided the country with unique opportunities to develop and deepen ties with neighboring and Muslim countries.

Rouhani, expressing satisfaction on Tehran- Islamabad ties, underlined that Iran welcomes furthering the ties in all fields, while talking to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over phone on Friday.

“We hope to witness positive developments, closer ties between member states and strengthening of ties in upcoming ECO summit hosted by Pakistan,” Rouhani said.

He also underlined the constructive role of Ayatollah Hashemi in establishing close ties between Iran and Pakistan and expressed gratitude on Sharif’s condolence message on Ayatollah’s demise.

“Iran and Pakistan possess great capacity to develop ties politically, culturally and economically and should benefit from that,” Rouhani asserted noting the matchless opportunity the Islamic Revolution had created regarding bilateral ties with neighboring and Islamic countries.

Nawaz Sharif, for his part, congratulated Iranian government and nation on anniversary of Islamic Revolution reaffirming that closer ties with Iran is Pakistan’s foreign policy priority.

Pakistani premier also invited President Rouhani to attend the ECO summit underlining that Iran’s participation is crucial to improve ECO’s position.
