“The important developments in Syria and the historic defeat of terrorists in Aleppo on the one hand, and on the other, the defeat of ISIL terrorists in Iraq’s Mosul, led the US into desperation so they imposed new sanctions against Iran,” Chairman for the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security of Iran Alaeddin Boroujerdi said Saturday in reference to the new sanctions imposed by Washington against 25 Iranian entities and individuals.
He went on to add, “the effective presence of Iranian advisors in Syria and Iraq caused the US and its allies to lose billions of dollars, and now Washington is outraged at the situation.”
“The US must know, however, that these sanctions will have no effect on the steely determination of the Islamic Republic in the fight against terrorism,” he stressed. “Iran will continue fighting US and UK mercenaries in the region and will not allow them any chance to take advantage of the Middle East.”
“The recent moves by the US new government come in the wake of massive global protests against America,” he said. “These government and public reactions will lead to the isolation of Washington in the near future.”
