TEHRAN, Feb. 02 (MNA) – Maj. Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi, the top military advisor of Leader, said in a speech on Thursday, that war expenses have weakened the power of the US.

“The experiences of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the victories garnered during the 4 decades after it are all achieved within the trajectory of resistance and stance of the Iranian nation against the enemies," said the top military advisor of Iran’s Leader, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, in a gathering in Arak, on Thursday.

The former commander of the IRGC reiterated that the events of Islamic Revolution can only yield interpretation according the Quranic teachings and he ascribed 'Islamic awakening' in the Middle East to the aspirations created by Islamic Revolution of 1979. He maintained that it was the Islamic Revolution of Iran which revived the hope for victory among the nations of the region.  

“Even today, this Revolution transcends new borders and wages new defeats on the global arrogance (i.e. the United States and its allies) and the enemies of Islam,” asserted the Major General. “The Americans have squandered trillions of dollars in their military adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan and have defeated in there as they have not accomplished their goals despite suffering 15,000 injured and wounded soldiers.”    

Rahim Safavi referred to the remarks made by the new US President Donald Trump and added that even the new US president is angry with the military costs imposed on US economy during the last 8 years. He asserted that, “it is a truth that the US power has shrunk.”
