“Keeping countries secure is of prime importance and it is the responsibility of the officials of each country to solve issues wisely,” said Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, on Wednesday, while receiving Armenian Minister of Defense Vigen Sargsyan in Tehran.
Mr. Larijani praised Armenia’s decent behavior toward the Republic of Azerbaijan and underlined that, “creating a new crisis in the region holds no bright future.”
The Iranian top MP called for more efforts to avoid the same incidents of the past repeated, as he described them of no benefit for any country. He also voiced warm welcome to expansion of bilateral cooperation between Iran and Armenia.
The Armenian official, in this meeting, for his part, expressed his satisfaction with his travel to Iran and stressed that there are vital necessities that push the two countries of Iran and Armenia to broaden cooperation. “We, in these meetings, examined along with Iranian officials all the avenues to improve bilateral cooperation.”
Mr. Sargsyan also asserted that expansion of bilateral parliamentarian cooperation is high value to the Armenian and reassured that after the opening of the new Armenian parliament, whose elections are going to be held in the next 2 weeks, immediate measures will be taken to speed up the formation of new parliamentarian friendship group between Iran and Armenia.
