TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (MNA) – Chairmen of the Bosnia and Herzegovina House of Representatives Šefik Džaferović said his country holds special attention to maintain relations with friendly countries like Iran, besides its efforts to get membership in NATO.

In a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mahmoud Heidari, Džaferović hailed Iran’s support of the people of Bosnia in the harsh conditions of war and said the expansion of ties with Iran, especially in economic field is welcomed by Bosnian Parliament and we hope for the boost in trade and economic transactions between the two countries, besides the political ones.

Džaferović also submitted the greetings to his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani and invited him to pay a visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Heidari, for his part, described current relations between the two countries at a good level; “the Islamic Republic of Iran since the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina has respected to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of government and unity of the nation of Bosnia.

“Strengthening communication with all Bosnian ethnic groups, including Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats, is among top priorities of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sarajevo,” Heidari noted.

Iranian ambassador outlined as fundamental the parliamentary relations between the two countries and expressed hope that they expand ties in all fields with the support of the two Parliaments.
