TEHRAN, Jan. 24 (MNA) – Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah will visit Iran in two days.

The trip is scheduled to submit a written message of the [Persian] Gulf Cooperation Council members to Iranian authorities, Majallat al-Khaleej al-Jadeed (New Gulf Magazine) wrote on Monday.

Earlier, Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah confirmed the news announcing that Sabah Al-Khalid will consult with Iranian officials on a visit to Tehran on relations of PGCC with Tehran and regional developments.

One of Kuwait’s National Assembly officials also said Al-Sabah’s visit to Tehran is an attempt to prepare the ground for joint talks between Iran and the PGCC.  

Earlier, former Kuwait’s foreign minister, a prominent figure closer to sovereignty, called for dialogue and negotiation between [Persian] Gulf Arab countries and Iran on regional issues.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi also on Monday there has long been talks of a Kuwaiti delegation traveling to Tehran and Foreign Minister Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah will visit Iran in the near future.
