TEHRAN, Jan. 22 (MNA) – CEO of Iran’s Industrial Property Office announced Sun. that Iran and Italy have agreed on expanding cooperation in the form of technology transfer.

Seyed Mehdi Mirsalehi told Mehr News that a joint project has been launched with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and two representatives from Italy’s Ministry of Industry. The project aims at supporting small and medium industry clusters through investment and technology transfer from Italy to Iran.

“The objective of such projects is to attract investment in renewable energies and provide for their infrastructures through innovation,” he said. “Another objective was to help with transfer of technology through increasing investment opportunities. We plan to improve the status of the country’s industries through innovations.”

According to Mirsalehi, the improvement of small and medium industry clusters and the use of renewable energies can be a tremendous help to environmental protection.

“The project can result in the development and impact of the trade network on small and medium enterprises and their connection with international markets,” he said.
