TEHRAN, Jan. 21 (MNA) – Foreign Ministry spokesperson has condemned terror attack in Pakistan’s Parachinar which killed at least 20 people.

Mr. Bahram Ghasemi was responding to a bomb blast in Pakistan’s Parachinar tribal region in north of the country in borders with Afghanistan.

He condemned the terror act as targeting largely civilians; he also offered condolences to the families of victims and Pakistani government; “terrorism is a pressing issue which should be addressed through a collective resolve to tackle the problem once and for all,” he told the press on Saturday. Pakistan’s Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has taken responsibility for the attack.

“The political administration in Kurram tribal agency confirmed the death toll and said the injured were shifted to the Agency Headquarters hospital, where there is shortage of doctors and medical facilities. At least 10 patients were said to be in critical condition. The explosion occurred early morning around 8:50AM at the city's Eidgah market, where a large number of people were shopping for fruits and vegetables,” news website for Pakistan’ Geo TV channel reported on Saturday.
