TEHRAN, Jan. 21 (MNA) – Pakistani prime minister and Armenian president have sent message of condolence for Iran’s government for collapse of Plasco business center on Thursday.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif expressed sympathies with Iran’s government and nation for the heart-wrenching death of firefighters during the collapse; “on behalf of the Pakistani people and government, we share your grief for the event,” said the message.

Yet in a different message, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s message also was received by Moscow office of Iran’s state news agency IRNA on Saturday, Armenian president expressed condolences for the event and death of a number of people and firefighters during collapse of Tehran’s oldest building.

A fire consumed 9th floor of the 17-storey Plasco building in central part of Tehran which is a busy trade center. The building itself, built in 1962 was the center of textile wholesalers and housed hundreds of the businesses. Despite the fact that firefighters from 10 stations of Tehran had responded to the event, the building collapsed around 11:30 AM Thursday when a number of firefighters were striving to extinguish fire in higher storeys of the building.
