TEHRAN, Jan. 14 (MNA) – Albanian foreign minister has arrived in Tehran on Saturday, was received by Iran’s head of ICCIMA.

Mr. Ditmir Bushati and Gholamhossein Shafei discussed the prospects of economic and trade ties. Mr. Bushati told the meeting that Albania welcomed holding joint commissions to address opportunities for both countries to expand trade; “my visit to Tehran addresses political and economic ties; both sides have meager information about the capacities for trade in the other side and officials should bring entrepreneurs from Iran and Albania to a common ground where they would discuss the hidden capacities abandoned unexhausted,” he said.

“Albania looks forward to working with Iran in energy, agriculture and tourism; we hail other possible grounds for cooperation with Iran,” Mr. Bushati added. “I will meet Javad Zarif, my Iranian counterpart and we will discuss a comprehensive list of options of investments in both countries, which also will address additional taxing in host countries to boost trade and investment.”

Mr. Bushati heads a delegation of tradesmen and economic officials to Tehran. Albania exported a total of $86,600 of goods to Iran and imported $1.2 million.

Mr. Shafei, Head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture for his part said trade agreements would accelerate the slow pace of economic ties between Iran and Albania; “Iran and Albania would play the role of a gate for Asia and Europe, thus have excellent capacities to improve ties; trade between two countries are still very low; with new law on effect, Iran will provide other countries with attractive choices in terms of investments, a fact Albania would exploit,” he told the meeting.
