TEHRAN, Dec. 25 (MNA) – The first International Summit for Presenting Investment Opportunities & Sustainable Development of Mokran Shores will be held in Chabahar, Iran, on 23-24 January 2017.

The main purposes of the convention include: introducing the investment capacities of the region; reviewing and presenting executive development plans of the region; introducing the investment opportunities of the region to local and international main investors; and facilitating the realization of the development goals of Islamic Republic of Iran in Oman Sea coasts.

The summit will also include nine specialized panels on investment opportunities in financial and economic, oil and gas, fisheries and agriculture, industries and mines, tourism, transport, ports and urban development, petrochemicals, water and electricity.

The event has attracted a large presence from Iranian and foreign investors in Chabahar Free Trade Zone.

Mokran is a semi-desert coastal strip in Balochistan, in Pakistan and Iran, along the coast of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Its proximity to the international waters around the southern border, and being a direct neighbor with Pakistan and Afghanistan and an indirect neighbor with the Central Asian countries, Mokran is a significant way for these landlocked countries to connect with the high seas.
