TEHRAN, Dec. 24 (MNA) – In separate messages to his Christian counterparts across the globe, Iran’s Chief of Staff for the Armed Forces congratulated the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ and New Gregorian Calendar Year.

Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff for the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, sent separate congratulatory messages to military commanders and officials of Christian states around the world over the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ and the start of the new Christian Year.

“Allow me to offer my heartfelt congratulations on the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ (PBUH), as prophet of peace, justice, and tranquility, as well as in the new year of 2017 to you and all your respected colleagues,” reads the opening of Bagheri’s letter.

He further expressed hope that in the new Christian year, all human communities will ponder upon great monotheism and constructive teachings of divine, including Jesus Christ, so that the world will no longer witness terrorism, oppression, domination or war and all human beings, of any religion, will live together with peace.

He further wished grace, peace and justice for his counterparts as well as health and well-being for armed forces of destination countries.
