TEHRAN, Dec. 20 (MNA) – Iran’s Javad Zarif and Hossein Dehghan will sit with their Turkish and Russian counterparts in a trilateral meeting to discuss developments in the region especially in Syria.

Iran’s ambassador Mehdi Senaei was in the welcome ceremony in Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport on Tuesday.

Zarif and Brig. Gen. Dehghan will also appear in bilateral meetings to address political, economic, security and defense on the sidelines of the major event which will focus on Syria and efforts to evacuate Aleppo amid concerns over two cities of Fua and Kfarya.

Monday evening’s shocking assassination of Russian ambassador to Ankara Andrey Karlov during a visit to an exhibition largely adumbrated the possibilities of the trilateral meeting in Moscow; however, Turkey’s Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu traveled to Moscow to indicate that trilateral meeting would remain untouched by the event.
