Rouhani made the remarks during a telephone conversation with President Assad on Wednesday evening noting that the progress made in Aleppo was an important step toward Syria’s final victory over terrorism.
“Now it is a duty for international community to help the Syrian nation,” said Rouhani adding “"The Islamic Republic of Iran will stand by the Syrian government and nation until terrorists are fully forced out of the country."
Presidnet Rouhani also expressed Iran’s readiness to send humanitarian aid to Syria and underlined “today marks a great test for all countries advocating human rights. The international community’s assistance to displaced Syrians and those affected by the war is a priority for all after Aleppo's liberation.”
President Bashar al-Assad, for his part, praised unconditional support of Iranian nation and government for his country and said Syrian will not forget the Iranian nation and government, who stood by Syria during its hardest times.
