MOSCOW, Nov. 17 (MNA) – US Director of National Intelligence James Clapper announced that he is resigning from his post during the House Intelligence Committee hearing on Thursday.

"I submitted my letter of resignation last night which felt pretty good," Clapper said. "I've got 64 days left."

His resignation comes at a time when President-elect Donald Trump remains undecided on his national security policy.

James Clapper assumed office in 2010, becoming the 4th Director of National Intelligence.
