Mr. de Mistura arrived earlier in the morning in Tehran as part of his mission in the region to coordinate efforts of bringing Syrian crisis to an end.
Mr. Hossein Jaberi Ansari hosted him where they discussed possible ways out of the crisis.
Mr. de Mistura told the meeting that all fighters supported by any party should retreat from Aleppo, especially Fath al-Sham Front should pull out of east of the city.
“The UN has been watching the development in Aleppo where terrorists used the citizens as human shields; the UNSG and I have been laboriously working to secure a safe Aleppo free of warring factions; we categorically condemn any crimes in the city by any party in both east and west of Aleppo; we are working on a proposal which suggests citizens as well as terrorists evacuate the city,” he told the meeting.
“To hit a mode of government in the city, we need to have access to the public in both sides, and any bullet should not be fired in the city,” he concluded.
