TEHRAN, Nov. 08 (MNA) – President of University Sports Federation of Afghanistan (USFA) met and talked with his Iranian counterpart in Thran.

Manqoushudin Naseemi, President of University Sports Federation of Afghanistan (USFA) made a visit to National University Sports Federation of Iran (IUSF) and attended a meeting with IUSF President Mohammadreza Dehkhoda discussing cooperation possibilities as well as venues for development of university sports.

Iran’s Dehkhoda, at the meeting, present a report on activities carried out by IUSE saying “given the commonalities between the two countries, the session will hopefully lead to strengthening of mutual collaboration between Tehran and Kabul as well as expansion of required opportunities to increase capabilities of university students by exchanging experience and sportive initiatives.”

He further expressed hope that grounds will be provided for boosting of relations between Iranian and Afghan universities in line with reinvigoration of international ties through sportive and educational activities, holding of scientific-sportive workshops and various joint training camps in addition to holding multilateral competitions.

Later into the meeting, USFA President Manqoushudin Naseem congratulated Iran on the achievements in the recent World University Wrestling Championship in Turkey saying “Afghanistan seeks venues for reinvigoration of Tehran-Kabul sportive ties which will hopefully become realized thanks to high potential of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Naseem also called for holding a training camp for the National Afghan university sports team in Iran noting “taekwondo and wushu teams of Afghanistan are preparing for the 29th FISU Summer Universiade in 2017.”

The Afghan official, along with his accompanying delegation, called for further support and collaboration of IUSF especially for admission of to the Asian University Sports Federation (AUSF).
