Sa'dollah Masoudian conveyed condolences to and sympathized with families of the victims of the suicide attack in Iraq underlining that two of the injured people have gone through operations in Sulaymaniyah.
The official further recalled the terrorist acts in the Iraqi power station in the vicinity of Kirkuk saying “unfortunately on Friday morning, ISIL terrorists carried out a suicide attack leaving three Iranian technicians martyred and five others injured.
“Mosayeb Ghanbari, Nemat Rezaei and Kuroush Ghavidel were the three Iranian engineers who were killed in the terrorist blast,” he continued.
Masoudian, while slamming terrorist actions, announced that “sadly, three Iranian engineers were martyred with direct gun shots since upon arrival at the Iraqi power house, terrorists began shooting at engineers and technicians before blowing up bombs.”
“Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran is seeking to prepare conditions for transfer of martyrs as well as wounded people who are in critical conditions.”
According to Reuters, at least 18 people, mostly members of the security forces and workers at the power station, were killed in the ISIL attack on government-run facilities in Kirkuk on Friday.
The assault took place as three bombers stormed a power plant under construction by an Iranian company near Dibris town, located about 40 kilometers northwest of Kirkuk city, the town’s mayor Abdullah Nureddin al-Salehi said.
At least eight terrorists were reportedly killed, either by blowing themselves up or in clashes with security forces.
