TEHRAN, Oct. 15 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has left for the Swiss city of Lausanne this morning to take part in in the Sat. ministerial talks on Syrian crisis.

Late on Friday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi confirmed Zarif’s attendance in the Saturday ministerial talks on Syria that would be held in the Swiss city of Lausanne with foreign ministers of Iraq, Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, the US, Russia, and Saudi Arabia.

The international conference will focus on the issue of reviving the ceasefire in the war-torn Syria.

The US and Russia brokered a pact to pause the violence in the conflict-ridden Arab country on September 9 after some 13 hours of talks in the Swiss city of Geneva. The deal, which began on September 12, was initially agreed to last seven days, but it was soon left in tatters.
