TEHRAN, Oct. 02 (MNA) – Iran has so far exported its nanotechnology products to 18 foreign countries, the Secretary of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council said Sunday.

Saeed Sarkar made the remark in a press conference on Monday, adding “Australia, China, Russia, Germany, Turkey, Pakistan, Korea and the CIS are among the countries to which we have so far exported our nanotechnology products.”

The INIC Secretary maintained that the Council is planning to expand the scope of the exports to include more countries, adding “this requires our active participation in international exhibitions, which is exactly what we are doing every year.”

According to him, the exported products are categorized as ‘laboratorial and industrial equipment’ and ‘materials and products’; “we are planning to further increase the volume of exports,” he added.

Sarkar referred to the holding of Iran Nanotechnology Day in other countries, saying “last year, we held such an exhibition in China, which was then followed by a request from South Korea. During the event, we introduced ten nanotechnology products to Chinese and Korean industrialists.”

“We are intending to hold Iran Nanotechnology Day once again in China this year,” he added.

“Last year, Iran and China signed a contract worth $1.5 million,” Sarkar said. “We also managed to install 105 items related to laboratorial equipment for students at Chinese high schools.”

He went on to add that advance payments have been made for the nanotechnology agreements with China.
