The 7th week of Persian Gulf Premier League of Iran’s Professional Soccer was opened on Tuesday at a quarter to five in the afternoon in the northwestern city of Tabriz where the red giants of the city lined up against Siah Jamegan of Mashhad. Amir Ghalenoie’s side garnered their 4th victory of the season thrashing the visitors 3-0 to secure their position at the top of the table ahead of Persepolis who have played one game less than Tractorsazi with 12 points and a goal difference 5 less than Tractorsazi’s 8.
The second fixture of round seven’s day one was held in Qom where Saba of the city played against Saipa of Tehran. The hosts edge passed the visitors to register their first victory of the season.
In Ahvaz, Peykan of Tehran alike Saba of Qom bagged their first victory of the season defeating the title holders of the city, Esteghlal of Khuzestan, who have had a very troubled commencement in the new season. This was the second defeat of Esteghlal of Khuzestan in the past 7 weeks of the Persian Gulf Premier League.
In the last event of the day one of the 7th round, the blue giants of Tehran were the third team of the day to garner their first victory of the season. The hosts edge passed Zowbahan of Isfahan 2-1 to reach the total of 7 points and jump to the tenth row of the table. Omid Ebrahimi (penalty at 43) and Ali Ghorbani (50) scored for Mansourian’s side and Morteza Tabrizi (66) retaliated one of the goals for Golmohammadi’s side.
Unlike 6th round which was abound with draws the first day of this round had no draw and the four other events of the week, left for day two on Wednesday, are hoped to be as exciting as day one’s. Gostaresh Foulad of Tabriz who have bagged no win in the new season and are placed at the bottom of the table will host Fould of Ahvaz in Tabriz to open the day two. Padideh and Naft of Abadan will play in Mashhad. Sepahan of Isfahan will line up against the red giants of Tehran and the day will be concluded with the fixture between Naft of Tehran and Machinsazi of Tabriz in Tehran.
