Heading a high-ranking judiciary and human rights delegation, the Secretary-General of Iran's High Council for Human Rights Mohammad Javad Larijani left Tehran on Tuesday for Italian capital city of Rome. The visit is intended to broaden the diplomacy of human rights and judiciary cooperation across the world and it entails meetings with some of senior judiciary, human rights, and political officials of Italy.
The travel also resumes the Iran-Italy talks on comparison between the criminal justice system of Iran and Italy which was initiated two years ago in Italian island of Sicily under the heading of ‘protection of human rights criminal justice system of Iran and Italy.’
The Iranian and Italian experts will discuss issues like the rights of the accused, women’s rights, children’s rights, and procedural fairness in the judiciary system of both Iran and Italy.
