TEHRAN, Sep. 09 (MNA) – Two Iranian Judoka grabbed the bronze medals of their weight classes on the first day of the 10th Asian cadet judo championship in India.

Iranian Judokas Vahid Barimanlou and Mehdi Barghamadi bagged the bronze medal of their weight divisions on the opening day of the 10th Asian cadet judo championship at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium of Indian city of Kochi on Thursday evening.

In the weight category of under-55 kilogram, Gaku Toyoshima of Japan garnered the gold medal defeating Enebish Battseren of Mongolia who bagged the silver and Iran’s Vahid Barimanlou jointly with Nasrullo Shokirov grabbed the bronze medal of the event.

Teppei Saiganji of Japan bagged the gold medal of under-66 kilogram weight class while Adil Myrzaev of Kyrgyzstan bagged the silver medal and Iran’s Mehdi Barghamadi jointly with Nitin Chauhan of India grabbed the bronze medal of the category.

A total of 164 Judokas, 100 boys and 64 girls, from 22 countries including Iran, India, Japan, Korea, Taipei, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan are vying at the 10th Asian Cadet Judo Championships 2016.
