TEHRAN, Sep. 04 (MNA) – Highly-acclaimed Iranian film ‘Oblivion Season’ by Abbas Rafei has managed to win two more awards at two international film festivals in Canada and California.

‘Oblivion Season’ directed by Abbas Rafei has won the Best Film Award at the 16th Nickel Independent Film Festival June 14-18, 2016, Canada, and the 7th International Film Festival of Independent Filmmakers in California, US.

The movie narrates the story of a struggling but strong-spirited young woman who, against all prejudices, tries to assert herself against other working women and also against the hostility and contempt of the family of her husband.

The cast includes Sareh Bayat, Amin Zendegani, Shahin Taslimi, Jila Alershad, Fariba Ahang and Mehdi Mohtashemi.

The movie has so far been screened in 69 international film festivals and won 36 awards and titles including the Best Film Award at Brasov International Film Festival (BRIFF), Best Feature Narrative Award at Buffalo International Film Festival (BIFF) and Best Film Award at the Third Annual Rahway International Film Festival in northeastern New Jersey, the US, in early September.
