TEHRAN, Sep. 03 (MNA) – Iran’s Ambassador to Paris said Sat. that the country is making plans for the visit of French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault to Iran for the formation of a joint economic commission in the next few months.

Iranian Ambassador to Paris Ali Ahani, who had attended a roundtable entitled ‘Iran, now a perfect time for cooperation’ on the sidelines of the French employer's body MEDEF union summer forum in France, referred to the mutual efforts on the part of both governments in a bid to bolster bilateral relations, adding “at present, there is a perfect opportunity for French companies for doing investment and production in Iran.”

Ahani then pointed to the high-level political and parliamentary meetings between Iran and France, the visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Paris in February 2016, and the signing of 35 MoUs as a start of a new chapter in the two countries’ relations.

The Iranian envoy further talked about the recent visit of French Environment Minister Segolene Royal to Tehran on Aug. 28, where she met with her Iranian counterpart Masoumeh Ebtekar to announce plans for a number of joint projects addressing energy, water shortages and pollution. Ahani went on to add, “next week, President of French National Assembly Claude Bartolone will pay an official visit to Iran to discuss ways of bolstering bilateral cooperation; we are also making efforts to plan for the visit of Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault in the next few months for the formation of Iran-France joint economic commission.”

The French employer's body MEDEF union summer forum, this year for the eighteenth consecutive year, was held in Paris on 30-31 August. Iran’s roundtable was held on Wednesday, 31 Aug., with three speakers addressing economic activities in Iran. The speakers included Iranian Ambassador to France, co-founder of Graine de Pastel Company, Carole Garcia, and FIEV Club Iran president Didier Hedin.
