TEHRAN, Aug. 17 (MNA) – An Iranian documentary 'Atlan', by Moein Karimoddini, will be featured at the ninth edition of Kosovo International Film Festival.

Atlan, produced in Iranian Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), will compete with other 30 documentaries from across the world.

It narrates the life story of an Iranian Turkmen horse-riding instructors named Ali and Ilhan in the northeastern Iranian region of Turkmen Sahra. Ali plans to marry with the money Ilhan wins in horse racing, however, it is not going well, Ilhan is put under unforeseen conditions and Ali has to fight for his horse’s championships.

Atlan is among the most successful documentaries in the history of Iranian cinema in recent years.

The documentary had been screened in several festivals including Dutch International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA), Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival and Tiburon Film Festival in California, Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland and in Cannes’ Doc Corners special section. It was also nominated for Best Long Documentary Award in Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Australia and the 17th TRT Documentary Award in Turkey.
