TEHRAN, Aug. 16 (MNA) – The 9th Annual Iranian Film Festival (IFF) is scheduled for September 24-25, 2016 in San Francisco, US.

Iranian Film Festival (IFF) is the first independent Iranian film festival outside of Iran launched in 2008. The annual event which is held in September showcases independent feature and short films made by or about Iranians from around the world.

According to the festival’s website, IFF is a platform for the Iranian filmmakers living around the globe to express their vision and talent through the artistic medium of film. The festival was established to support the Iranian film and culture in the Iranian-American community of the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

Now in its 9th edition, the event will screen a number of Iranian films including ‘Today’ by Reza Mirkarimi, ‘Taboo’ by Khosro Masoumi, ‘Crazy Castle’ by Abolhassan Davoodi, and ‘I Want to Be a King’ by Mehdi Ganji.
