Ali Karder who was speaking in a ceremony to inaugurate new directing manager of Iran’s Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) on Tuesday told reporters that IOOC had been in a condition far from satisfactory and demanded that a combination of managerial decisions, defining new systems and models and no less important consent of government officials should contribute to renovation of the company and to restore it to past brilliance. “Young university students should be welcomed as potential officials and the future generation of oil ministry civil servants,” said the head of NIOC.
In a related story, Hamid Bovard who replaced Saeid Hafezi in the Iran Offshore Oil Co., believed that the company performance was an indicator of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s governance in the Persian Gulf and should enjoy highest quality; “we are no longer in an era where cheaply produced oil would be marketed; country’s storage facilities use outdated equipment and had been in the terminal stage of their operation; we need a national resolve to mobilize all resources to invigorate the facilities and save the oil industry as a whole,” he told the meeting.
Saeid Hafezi, the outgoing IOOC directing manager, also addressed the inaugural ceremony briefly; “the company had been facing great difficulties working in sanctions era, with production being an uphill task in country’s greatest oil-producing complex; however, we have accomplished great feat under difficult conditions in bringing some hope to the industry in southern waters; as such, we need yet huge resources, precise planning, and mobilization to renew our outdated facilities; we have secured so far $3bn in the framework of a renewal package for the IOOC,” he told the meeting.
