“Countries who have accepted the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) are in charge of its implementation and Iran would also seriously pursue execution of the deal,” Mohammad Javad Zarif was quoted by IRIB as saying.
Zarif highlighted that Iran, under the guidance of the Leader, considered various alternatives during nuclear talks in order to prevent any possible harm.
In response to a question on America’s breach of JCPOA covenant, the official asserted “Americans have presidential elections ahead and they naturally have an inclination towards approaches which would benefit them.”
“The US is on the wrong track since their lack of commitment to JCPOA has exacerbated distrust of the Iranian nation towards them and meanwhile their losses would outweigh what they might achieve,” Zarif continued.
The official said Islamic Republic of Iran has demonstrated insistence on the rights of its people during negotiations; “Iran has proven to the world that it seeks constructive discourse in order to reach a solution.”
“In contrast, Americans have taken up a wrong approach that would harm themselves in the first place,” maintained Zarif.
