TEHRAN, Jul. 26 (MNA) – Iran’s ambassador to Moscow has said to the most probability, Presidents Rouhani and Putin will visit for 8th time soon.

Mehdi Senaei was quoted by Mehr News correspondent in Astrakhan announcing the news on Tuesday during Iran-Russia Joint Trade conference; “Iran and Russia had been improving their ties, and the testimony to this ever-increasing pace seven visits between both presidents in less than three years, with their 8th meeting to be planned for the near future,” he told the press. “We have signed all necessary agreement which would bring boom to bilateral trade; we have also inked some MoUs which will address easing visa issuance conditions and establishment of a green corridor of trade.”

Senaei also touched upon important issue of S300 missile defense system, where he believed all negotiations had proved yielding; “two years ago, you should wait for some time to find a flight to Moscow, with only 4 flights to the destination; now we have 15 such flights to Moscow which is apart from charter flights to Astrakhan itself,” he added.

“On the first two quarters of 2016, there has been a 68-per cent rise in trade with Russia; we are satisfied with the general trend of the trade; we should bring conditions back to 1917 when two port cities of Anzali and Astrakhan were regularly frequented by Iranian and Russian tradesmen and business burgeoned for some time; we have great potentials vis-à-vis the northern neighbor. Add to this advantage the north-south corridor which crosses Astrakhan and the Silk Road which also the city is a host for,” Senaei told the press.
