Reza Jafarzadeh, Head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization public relations office, made the remarks in reaction to recent news and reports on the possibility of terminating the contracts between Iran and the two eminent aircraft manufacturers.
The official emphasized that no final contract has been sealed to be canceled while the singed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are still valid and the sides are committed to their obligations.
“Pursuing the issue has been put on the agenda of the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development as well as the country’s Foreign Ministry,” underscored Jafarzadeh.
Iran Air, the Iranian national flag carrier, has inked a preliminary deal with Airbus to buy 118 aircraft from the French Aerospace company within a rent-to-own framework.
Another draft deal has been sealed between Iran Air and America’s Boeing over purchasing 100 planes.
