It was Taiwan B who took an 18-13 lead in the first quarter though Iranian players hardened their defense and gained the lead 35-30 at halftime.
During the second half, title-holder Iran widened the gap with physical superiority and effective teamwork before ending the fixture with a 73-61 victory.
Meanwhile, Egypt offered astonishing performances by crushing South Korea 74-73 in opening-day results from the William Jones Cup.
Iran's squad is slated to meet the US representative in their second encounter at the sportive event.
The 38th William Jones Cup international basketball tournament, is underway in New Taipei, Taiwan, from July 23 to 31.
