TEHRAN, Jul. 23 (MNA) – Iran’s FM spokesman advised Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir to refrain from making ‘absurd remarks’ about Iran and instead pay more consideration to the consequences of his words.

Bahram Ghasemi, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman, in response to the recent absurd, baseless and repetitive remarks by Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said, “these days, al-Jubeir is busy trying to wipe off the traces of involvement by leaders, officials and organizations of his country in various terrorist attacks in the past few decades.”

Ghasemi went on to add, “al-Jubeir assumes that by playing the blame game, he can sway the world public opinion from the endless list of scandals by his country as the creator of Al-Qaeda and ISIL.”

“Of course, it is understandable that the Saudi foreign minister has gone through tough days ahead of the release of the confidential report on 9/11 and will be awaiting even more difficult days,” he said.

Ghasemi further maintained, “every time al-Jubeir becomes frustrated, he utters ridiculous remarks about Iran. I advise him to refrain from making comments at such times and ponder a little more about the consequences of his words.”

The US government released 28 pages of a congressional report on the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks last week, which linked the Saudi government with the hijackers in having been in contact with them and giving assistance. The report, however, has not stopped Saudi officials and Saudi-funded media outlets from dismissing the documents and trying to put the blame on others.

“There is no doubt that the extent and consequences of such important information about the involvement of Saudi Arabia as a state sponsor of terrorism will not remain hidden from the world public opinion and nations who have become a victim of terrorism in the years after the 11 September, 2001.”

Separately, Iran’s diplomat dismissed Bahrain’s repetitive and baseless allegations against the Islamic Republic which claimed it had dismantled an Iranian-linked cell plotting on its territory, saying, “once again, we advise the Bahraini authorities to find solutions for their ever increasing problems instead of playing the blame game and attributing their own problems to others.”
