Ali Larijani who was speaking on Wednesday during a meeting with Parliament Legal Commission members, condemned misconduct of the regime in Manama against Muslims and their religious leaders; "misconduct by Al-Khalifa regime systematically hurts public's feelings and Muslim sensitivities around the world at large; we warn gravely the regime in Bahrain to strictly comply with the international foundations of human rights and exercise restraint in handling with their own people especially religious leaders," he emphasized.
"It is hapless that international organizations have kept silence about the regime's cruel handling of the affairs in Bahrain and its violation of the rights of its Muslim citizens; the government should not itself be the source of disturbance; religious leaders such as Ayatollah Issa Qassim have served the region and Bahrain as well in the best manner," he added.
"Sheikh Qassim has been an important ballast for people as well as a leader who has sought to control discontent citizens; if Bahraini rulers are wise, they should appreciate services of the ayatollahs especially Issa Qassim," Larijani recommended.
