TEHRAN, Jul. 13 (MNA) – Iran’s former deputy FM Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Tue. Saudi Arabia is directly responsible for the prolonged Yemen peace talks.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, former Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs, told Mehr News on Tuesday that Saudi’s relentless aerial bombardment of residential areas and infrastructure in Yemen and violation of ceasefire have rendered Yemenis’ political talks practically ineffective.

While stressing that Tehran has had and will have no intervention in Yemeni affairs, he said “Iran will, however, continue to lend spiritual support and humanitarian aid to the people of Yemen.”

“Despite Saudi’s sabotage and prevention in sending humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people, we have performed rather well in dispatching aid through coordination with relevant international and regional organizations,” said Zarif's advisor.

Amir-Abdollahian criticized Saudi Arabia’s warmongering policy in the region and blamed the Arab kingdom as the main cause for the current regional crises; “if Saudi Arabia does not correct its wrong policies, in addition to itself, the region will also be affected far worse than before,” he added.
