Valiollah Afkhamirad, who had travelled to Vietnam to attend the second meeting of Iran-Vietnam joint economic commission, said “continuous escalation of trade relations between Tehran and Hanoi was emphasized during the session.”
“Vietnamese officials stressed the need to remove barriers on trade as well as to realize the goal of reaching two billion dollars of trade volume as specified by the two countries’ presidents,” he continued.
Deputy Industry Minister Afkhamirad reiterated “the Asian country’s agriculture minister, who also chaired the joint meeting, voiced Vietnam’s eagerness to resolve broker issues between the two sides.”
Head of Iran’s TPO went on to note that “Vietnamese authorities also underscored the need to facilitate visa issuance for Iranian businessmen as a major step in boosting trade volume between the two parties.”
“Investigating the procedures for signing preferential trade agreeemnts between Iran and Vietnam was another topic of mutual interest which was discussed during the meeting of the joint commission,” said the official.
Afkhamirad concluded “on the final day of Iran-Vietnam joint commission summit, a memorandum of cooperation was inked on various areas including banking issues, preferential trade agreements, product exchanges, joint exhibitions as well as exchange of trade delegations among the others.”
