On the first day of 2016 edition of Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship on Thursday in Taichung city of Chinese Taipei, all 5 wrestlers of Iran’s national cadet team won their games to the final.
The three Greco-Roman wrestlers of Iran, Omid Arami, Mohammad Mehrabi, and Mohammad Hosseinvand, respectively fighting in 42 kg, 46 kg, and 50 kg categories along with their two freestyle compatriot wrestlers Seyyed Abolfazl Hashemi, and Seyyed Mehdi Hashemi won all the fights of the day one to stage a magnificent show of strength and skill for the traditional Asian wrestling powerhouse, Iran.
Arami defeated his Indian rival of the first bracket 8-0 before winning over his Kyrgyz opponent 9-0. The Iranian young wrestler defeated North Korea’s representative 7-0 to win the ticket to the final of the 42 kg division.
In 46 kg weight class, Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Mohammad Mehrabi won over rivals from Chinese Taipei and China on his way to the final event of the category.
Another Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler, Mohammad Hosseinvand shined in 50 kg category and after winning his Chinese, Kazakh, and Indian opponents reached the final of the division.
The two Iranian freestylers were also brilliant in their performances as Seyyed Abolfazl Hashemi, defeated his Mogul counterpart 9-0, before winning over his Japanese opponent 8-1. He triumphed over his Indian contestant 7-0 to clear his way to the final of the 85 kg weight division.
Iranian freestyler Seyyed Mehdi Hashemi also defeated his opponents from India, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan to reach the last event of the 100 kg class.
