Iranian MRL (Mechatronics Research Laboratories) team from Qazvin Islamic Azad University managed to defeat its rivals in RoboCup rescue league and win the first place in the Exploration category.
In the main competition section of RoboCup rescue league, MRL was qualified for the finals along with three other teams from Austria, Germany and Thailand to compete for the first place title.
Also in the rescue stimulation league, MRL won Iran’s first championship.
Teen-size humanoid robots from Amirkabir Univrsity of Technolgoy also managed to win the championship title in Germany’s RoboCup 2016. The team had won the second place in RoboCup 2015 held in China.
The 20th edition of RoboCup 2016 kicked off in the German city of Leipzig on Thursday and will wrap up on July 4. Over 200 teams from universities, schools and various institutes from 45 countries in the world are participating in this year’s edition.
Iran is participating in the event with teams from universities of Tehran, Amirkabir, Qazvin Islamic Azad University, among others.
