TEHRAN, Jun. 19 (MNA) – Iranian beach volleyball teams departed for Australia to participate in the final stage of Asian Continental Cup Olympic Qualification.

The final phase of the Asian Continental Cup Olympic Qualification is scheduled to convene on June 24-26 with the attendance of Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Japan, New Zealand, Indonesia, China as well as host Australia.

Accordingly, the tournament will observe competitions between Teams A and B of participating countries and a third match will decide for the results if the games end up in a draw.

The preliminary stage of the sportive event will take place in two groups each comprising four teams.

Iranian national beach volleyball teams A and B consist of Rahman Raoufi, Bahman Salemi, Bahman Gholipouri, Abdolhamed Mirza Ali and Kamal Ghoreishi who left Tehran for Cairns in Queensland of Australia which will host the qualifying event.

The title-winner in the Australian tournament will secure a place at Rio Olympics while the second- and third-place squads will find their ways to the FIVB World Continental Cup Olympic Qualification tournament in 2016 to take place in Russia from July 5-10 at a venue to be confirmed.

Previously, Iran came first in the second stage of Asian beach volleyball Olympic qualifying held on May 12-14 in Kalasin, Thailand.
