TEHRAN, Jun. 11 (MNA) – Iranian human rights NGO ‘Rock-Paper-Scissors’ has condemned a UN decision to remove Saudi Arabia from a blacklist of countries and groups accused of violating children’s rights.

“The shameful decisions of human rights organizations particularly in regard to children is not a matter that could be easily covered up and ignored,” read the statement by Iranian human rights NGO ‘Rock-Paper-Scissors’, affiliated with the ‘Silent Dolls’ campaign in support of children of war. “Infanticide, especially in the past few decades, has become one of the greatest atrocities that will leave a stain on the pages of history forever.”

The statement went on to strongly condemn the ‘bloodthirsty Saudi regime’ which, just like the Zionist regime and its ruthless allies, so audaciously kills and harms innocent children from different countries such as Yemen, Palestine, Iraq, Syria and Bahrain.

“Although the blacklisting of the child-killing Saudi regime in the UN register of children’s rights violators would have not assuaged the grieving fathers and mothers, the scandalized removal of this terrorist government from the list once again proved to the world that the so-called human rights organizations, not only are empty shells parading as defenders of human rights, but are being funded by dollars from child-killing regimes,” the statement read.

The group further called on all advocates of humanity to make efforts in raising awareness among the public about the humanitarian situation of innocent children neglected by the human rights organizations.

On Monday, the UN announced that the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen had been removed from the child’s rights blacklist, after giving in to political manipulation by Riyadh regime. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said he removed Saudi Arabia from the report, which blamed the Arab state for causing 60% of child deaths in Yemen, under 'undue' financial pressure, adding the decision was 'one of the most painful and difficult' he has had to make as Secretary General. The decision drew in a lot of heated criticism and condemnation from human rights groups, with Amnesty International censuring the United Nations “after it shamefully caved in to pressure to remove the Saudi Arabia-led military coalition from the UN’s list of states and armed groups that violate children’s rights in conflict.”
