The 17th Asian Junior Athletics Championships is being held in Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam from June 3-6 while the Iranian runner Rahmani clocked 52:97 seconds in the preliminary round of 400 meter hurdles in order to find his way to the final round as well as to receive tickets to the IAAF World U20 Championships in Athletics.
Javad Shuryabi, Iran’s other representative at the same event, suffered from an injury after hitting the hurdle and missed the final round.
Meanwhile, Shuryabi had previously earned a place at the World Championships to be held in to be held in Poland’s Bydgozcz from July 19-24, 2016.
The Asian tourney has attracted 700 young athletes and coaches from 40 countries and territories worldwide, including Qatar, Japan, China, Iraq, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Iran, competing in 22 categories at Thong Nhat Stadium in Vietnam.
